Calling all change-makers

Are you looking for ways to create positive change in Canada? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our volunteer board of directors.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about supporting Canadian charities, and experienced in starting or running a charity in its early development stages—someone who has gained experience by doing and now wants to give back by helping emerging change-makers realize their goals and vision.

Board members commit to supporting and mentoring our grant recipients, depending on their expertise and availability. Some of the most valuable areas of expertise for our recipients include management, operations, human resources, marketing, fundraising, and communications.

What’s involved:

  • Approximately four short board meetings per year, held virtually/remotely.
  • Approximately five to ten hours to review grant applications, once per year.
  • Occasional email communications and document review concerning board matters.
  • If you become a mentor to a grant recipient organization, approximately one mentoring call per quarter. Some mentoring board members provide additional support at their discretion.

Here’s what board member Gordon Johnson has to say about contributing to the Foundation:

“While I have always contributed to the larger tourism industry, my heart is well-served through the various Project Change initiatives. I only wish I had started this kind of volunteer work earlier in my career.”
