Volunteer Success builds momentum with student engagement

Volunteer Success is a national platform that connects skilled volunteers with nonprofit organizations, including through its reverse volunteer job board, Offers by Volunteers.

This year, Volunteer Success expanded its reach thanks to a grant, mentorship from board member Joe Kelly, and HR webinars provided by Project Change Foundation. Collectively, this support helped the organization sharpen its strategy and broaden its reach.

The grant funded targeted engagement with universities and colleges across Canada, distribution of marketing materials, and social media campaigns to connect students with the Offers by Volunteers feature—a reverse volunteer job board. These efforts introduced more young adults to the platform and strengthened connections with nonprofit organizations seeking skilled volunteers.

Mentorship provided invaluable guidance on navigating the post‑secondary system and refining engagement strategies. Combined with insights from HR webinars, Volunteer Success was able to pivot its approach and achieve stronger results.

The impact has been clear: a steady daily flow of new volunteer registrations and a significant increase in nonprofit organizations finding the skilled volunteers they need.

“As a nonprofit organization, we are always looking for sources of funding,” says Scott Wiseman, Executive Director. “However, the value proposition offered by Project Change Foundation far exceeds monetary support. The quarterly mentorship and group webinar sessions are where the true value of the relationship lies.”
