Nearly every charity needs a dedicated group of volunteers, but sometimes it can be hard to make connections with folks that are available to contribute. Enter Volunteer Success, one of our 2025 grant recipients.

Founded by Brian Prosserman, a venture capitalist and philanthropist, Volunteer Success helps charities find volunteers through its online match-making platform. Both non-profits and prospective volunteers post what they’re looking for, and, with the click of a button, connect with each other to initiate an application process. The ‘make an offer’ feature empowers volunteers to offer their services directly to organizations, and through the ‘communities’ option, organizations can narrow their search to volunteers available in their geographical area.

“Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, many charities have seen significant changes and challenges to their volunteer labour supplies,” says Scott Wiseman, Volunteer Success’s executive director. “There are individuals searching for meaningful volunteering opportunities, but they don’t know where to look. Organizations need volunteers, but they don’t know how to reach them. Our platform offers a centralized resource to generate this connection.”

The process allows volunteers to match their interests, skills, and availability with organizations, increasing the chance for all involved to have a meaningful experience.
