Volunteer Success: Making volunteering easy
Volunteers are the heart and soul of many charities, so naturally there’s a charity that helps connect organizations and volunteers.
Volunteer Success operates an online hub to connect volunteers with meaningful opportunities, and charities with qualified volunteers. The platform is free for prospective volunteers, charities, and non-profits in Canada.
“The platform is like a job-search website for volunteerism,” says Scott Wiseman, Volunteer Success’ executive director.
Headquartered in Vaughan, Ontario, Volunteer Success facilitates volunteer opportunities for people of all ages and levels of expertise. That’s why in 2025, with Project Change’s support, the charity will focus on outreach to post-secondary students.
Part of its strategic goals for the year, Volunteer Success wants to create a national catalogue of students offering their time and skills to non-profit organizations, from general offers to task-specific work. Volunteer Success will use its Project Change grant to make contact with 500+ career centres and student bodies to introduce the platform features and promote the benefits of volunteerism.
With their Project Change Foundation mentor, Volunteer Success will develop a strategic outreach plan for connecting with post-secondary institutions and receive guidance on developing strategic partnerships with other organizations as well as the for-profit sector.
“We hope to be able to offer community organizations across the country a tool to reach, engage, and recruit young adult volunteers,” Wiseman says.
